Hammer races into Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury Speedway
Kyle Hammer took the Brent McKinnon Racing No. 26H Late Model into battle with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Friday afternoon at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend.
With the massive 63-car field split for a round of preliminary features, Hammer timed in 12th-fastest in his group, which positioned him on the third row for his prelim. With $5,000 on the line, Kyle dropped one spot in the 25-lap affair to finish seventh.
On Saturday, Kyle secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic with an impressive fourth-to-second run in his B-Main. Taking the green in 20th, Hammer was scored 24th in the rundown after pulling into the infield on lap 58.
