Kyle Hammer enters Chili Bowl at Tulsa Expo Raceway

Kyle Hammer embarked on the 37th annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals on Thursday afternoon as his qualifying night at Tulsa Expo Raceway (Tulsa, Okla.) kicked off his 2023 season.

In a field of 72 Midgets, Hammer’s eighth-place outing in his heat race relegated him into the C-Main. Sending the top-four in the B-Main, Kyle moved forward three positions in the 12-lap consolation event to finish 10th.

Back in action on Saturday, Kyle began his pursuit for the Chili Bowl Nationals finale with a ninth-to-fifth run in the M Feature. Transferring up to the L Feature, Hammer was an early retiree on the seventh circuit, ending his bid into the $10,000-to-win main event.
