13th-place finish in FALS Spring Shootout

Drawing 55 Castrol FloRacing Night in America mini-series entries, Hammer was taken in his heat while battling for a transfer spot, relegating him into the B-Main. Sending the top-three into the feature, Kyle retired on the third circuit.
For the MARS Racing Series-sanctioned Farmer City 74 presented by Douglas Dodge on Friday at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.), Kyle jumped up one spot in his heat to finish fifth, transferring him into the B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the show, Hammer logged a fourth-place outing.
On Saturday evening at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the Titan Industries FALS Spring Shootout, Hammer followed up the ninth-fastest time in his group with a second-place finish in his heat. Starting the $30,000-to-win finale in 12th, Kyle dropped one spot in the 60-lap affair to finish 13th.
